Getting Here
The closest airport is Liberia, it's about a 2 and half hour drive depending on traffic. It is paved most of the way and there are two main routes. We recommend the route through Nicoya. The route that runs closer to the beach and that goes through San Juanillo involves a river crossing between Ostional and Nosara which rental car companies aren't too fond of! Unless it has been raining hard recently it generally isn't an issue, but still probably best to avoid. Supposedly there is a bridge coming soon!
It is also possible to fly in to San Jose. It is about a 4 1/2 hour drive.
From either San Jose or Liberia, it is possible to fly on Sansa Airlines (flysansa.com) in to Nosara airport. Flights are very quick, and gets you right in to the town of Nosara, which is about 10 minutes inland from Playa Guiones, the main tourist area.
You can rent a car but you don't really need one if you are staying at Casa Adorada since you can walk everywhere. Once in town, if you want to take a day trip you rent a car in town, or for shorter distances you can hop in a tuk tuk. It is also possible to rent a golf cart or ATV, but with how central our house is, I would only recommend doing that for the fun factor or if you have someone in your group that has a bit more trouble with walking around.
If you would like to avoid renting a car, our concierge can help you with hiring a private shuttle that can pick you up from either international airport. The shuttle will be waiting for you at the airport and drop you off right at the front door of La Casa Adorada. If you take a private shuttle you can stop at a grocery on your way or even Pricesmart right by the airport (it's the equivalent of Costco and you'll find many American brands along with Kirkland, you will need a membership if you do go). They also have a Walmart in Liberia if you want to stock up there. Alternatively, our concierge would be happy to arrange for grocery delivery and even a private chef to have a meal waiting for you when you arrive!
